A tragic physical altercation at a hotel in the Utako District of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has left a hotel worker, Joseph Terdoo, dead, with a suspect currently in police custody.
According to reports from the FCT Police Command, the incident occurred following a disagreement between Terdoo and a tiler identified as Samuel Net, who had been hired to work at the establishment.
Operatives from the Utako Divisional Police Headquarters responded to a distress call reporting suspicious activity on the third floor of the hotel. Upon entering Room 301, officers discovered Net with visible marks of violence, while Terdoo lay unconscious on the floor with multiple injuries.
Terdoo was immediately rushed to the Wuse District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival by the attending medical team. Preliminary investigations indicate that the verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation, during which Net allegedly pushed Terdoo, causing him to fall and strike his head against a wooden object.
The FCT Police Command has launched a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. Meanwhile, the FCT Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Sanusi, has appealed to residents to eschew violence, avoid taking the law into their own hands, and instead utilize peaceful, diplomatic channels to resolve conflicts.
