TRAGEDY IN DELTA: Governor’s Aide, TV Producer Shimite Bello Dies Amidst Domestic Violence Allegations

Asaba, Delta State – Delta State is reeling from the shocking news of the untimely death of Shimite Winifred Bello, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Trade and Export and the creative force behind the popular television series “African Pot.” While official details surrounding her passing remain scarce, allegations of domestic violence have cast a dark shadow over the tragedy, sparking widespread concern and calls for a thorough investigation.

Comrade Victor Ojie, a prominent human rights activist in Delta State, ignited the speculation with a poignant social media post shortly after the news broke, stating, “Marriage is not by force oh. It’s better to lose your marriage than to lose your life oh.” This sentiment was further amplified by Ms. Bello’s Special Assistant, Tameta Sunday, who in a heart-wrenching online tribute, pointed blame towards her husband, referring to him as an “ugly soul called pastor with a gentle look,” and lamenting the abrupt end to their shared aspirations.

Before dedicating her expertise to public service, Shimite Bello, affectionately known as “Shimite White Eagle,” was a well-recognized figure on national television. Her program, “African Pot,” which aired on NTA Network, captivated audiences by showcasing the rich tapestry of African cuisine and promoting tourism across the continent. Her vibrant personality and dedication to celebrating African culture had earned her a significant following.
