RABAT — Nigeria’s track queen, Tobi Amusan, delivered a masterclass performance at the Rabat Diamond League, reinforcing her dominance on the global stage by clinching her first Diamond League victory of the season in breathtaking fashion.
Dubbed the “Tobi Express,” the reigning world-class hurdler blazed through the track to stop the clock at an incredible 12.28 seconds. The spectacular run not only secured her the gold but also shattered the previous Meeting Record. Remarkably, this marks the second time Amusan has clocked exactly 12.28 seconds this season, signaling a fierce consistency as she builds momentum for upcoming major global championships.
From the blast of the gun, Amusan showed exceptional technical prowess and composure, executing a flawless race over the barriers. She quickly established a commanding lead, leaving a highly competitive field in her wake.

Bahamas’ indoor world champion, Devynne Charlton, crossed the line in second place with a strong time of 12.40 seconds, while Netherlands’ Nadine Visser settled for the final podium spot, finishing third in 12.47 seconds. Despite the pressure from her elite rivals, Amusan’s raw closing speed ensured she crossed the finish line a clear and undisputed winner.
This emphatic victory sends a definitive message to her competitors worldwide. With her season’s best now equaled and a meeting record in the bag, the Nigerian superstar has officially set the standard for the hurdles circuit this year, proving that she remains the woman to beat on the road to ultimate athletic glory.
