President Bola Tinubu has expressed profound grief over the passing of Chief Ralph Obioha, a towering statesman, former lawmaker, and stalwart of the National Democratic Coalition.
In an official condolence statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President paid glowing tribute to Obioha’s monumental courage during Nigeria’s turbulent democratic struggles. Tinubu emphasized that the late elder statesman belonged to an esteemed generation of patriots who answered the call of duty when the nation faced severe political crossroads following the annulment of the June 12, 1993, presidential election.
Highlighting the personal toll of his activism, the President noted that Obioha remained unflinching in his advocacy for justice, equity, and constitutionalism despite intense political pressure. Condolences were extended to the bereaved family, the government and people of Abia State, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, and pro-democracy circles nationwide, with prayers for eternal rest and divine fortitude for those left behind.
