TINUBU ADMINISTRATION DELIVERS FAIR DEVELOPMENT ACROSS ALL REGIONS, SAYS FG

The Federal Government of Nigeria has asserted that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration remains committed to fairness, justice, and equity in distributing federal projects, appointments, and opportunities among all six geopolitical zones of the country. This statement was released in response to recent allegations and misinformation suggesting neglect or bias.

According to the Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, contrary to some narratives, the administration has demonstrated an uncommon commitment to balanced development and inclusivity since taking office. There are ongoing major infrastructural projects spanning highways, rail, power, and health sectors across the federation, with no region left behind.

Verifiable data from the government show that the Northwest region is currently the biggest beneficiary, receiving ₦5.97 trillion or over 40% of total federal project approvals. Other regions have also received substantial allocations: the South South ₦2.41 trillion, North Central ₦1.13 trillion, South West ₦604 billion (excluding Lagos), South East ₦407 billion, and North East ₦400 billion.

Key national road projects include the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway, with 175 km under construction across Lagos, Cross River, and Akwa Ibom States; the Sokoto–Badagry Superhighway in the North, with 378 km ongoing in Kebbi and Sokoto; and parts of the Trans-Sahara Highway in Ebonyi State. Overall, northern regions account for 52% of ongoing roadworks, while the southern regions constitute 48%.

The administration has revitalized rail infrastructure, securing funds for light rail projects in Kano and Kaduna states valued at ₦150 billion and ₦100 billion respectively, while metro lines in Lagos and Ogun States are being developed. Rehabilitation efforts are also underway for the Eastern Corridor rail line from Port Harcourt to Maiduguri.

Social infrastructure improvements include the rehabilitation of over 1,000 primary health care centers nationwide, highlighting the government’s emphasis on human capital development. Additionally, power infrastructure projects such as the revival of the 255MW Kaduna Power Plant and progress on the AKK Gas Pipeline project are advancing.

President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive development is further reflected in the recent establishment of five new Regional Development Commissions covering all geopolitical zones, under the newly created Ministry of Regional Development. These bodies aim to address specific regional needs and bridge developmental gaps, a strategic move aimed at fostering economic growth and national stability.

The Federal Ministry of Livestock Development was also created to diversify economic opportunities for the country. Federal appointments under Tinubu have consistently shown a merit-based approach, drawing capable Nigerians from every region to ensure inclusivity and competence.
