Two people including a tea seller have been killed by thunder strike at Onigbegiri Junction, Eyenkorin in Asa local government area of Kwara state.
The tea seller and his customer were reportedly killed on Thursday evening during a downpour.
An eyewitness, Mr. Mojeed Onigbegiri, who spoke with journalists, said an Hausa tea seller and another yet to be identified man died instantly when the thunder struck during a heavy rainfall in the area at about 6:30pm.
ValidViewNetwork also gathered that the yet-to-be-identified victim was a customer who came to take tea when the tragedy struck.
Consequently, the people of the community have appealed to the state government, the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies to evacuate the lifeless bodies of victims.
NiMet had warned that from August this year Kwara and some states would experience imminent flooding that would be caused by heavy rains which would also be accompanied with thunder and lightning.
