The family of late Nollywood icon Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has written an open letter of appreciation to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, thanking him for his extraordinary kindness, support, and compassion during the actor’s final days.
The letter, shared on Instagram by Ogogo’s daughter Lima, noted that the senator stood by the family from the very beginning of the actor’s illness through the most critical moments of his treatment.
A Letter of Gratitude

The letter, shared on Instagram by Ogogo’s daughter, Lima Taiwo, on Thursday, September 3, 2026, expressed deep gratitude to the senator for standing by their father from the onset of his illness through the most critical moments of his treatment.
“Some kindnesses can never be forgotten,” Lima wrote in the caption.
A Father’s Final Days
Ogogo, a veteran Yoruba actor, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at the age of 66 after a brave battle with stage-four cancer.
His death sent shockwaves through the Nigerian entertainment industry, with colleagues, fans, and political figures paying tribute to the beloved actor.
In the letter, the family acknowledged that Senator Yayi stood by them during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
“From the very beginning of his difficult journey, you stood by him and by our family,” the letter read.
Kira, another of Ogogo’s daughters, had also penned a separate letter of appreciation to the senator, recalling how the family faced uncertainty and fear while seeking the best possible treatment for their father.
Genuine Concern and Support
Kira noted that Senator Yayi went beyond offering assistance, as he showed genuine concern for her father, followed his treatment journey, and continued to support the family.
“You did not simply offer assistance; you genuinely stood with him,” Kira wrote.
Although their efforts, medical care, prayers, and support could not save their beloved father, Kira said the family considered it important to recognise those who stood by him when he needed support the most.
“Senator, you were one of those people. Thank you for standing by Alhaji Chief Taiwo Al-Hassan Babatunde. Thank you for standing by our family,” she wrote.
A Prayer for the Senator
Kira also prayed for Senator Yayi’s continued good health, long life, wisdom, and success, asking Almighty Allah to reward his kindness as Sadaqah.
She concluded the emotional letter with a prayer for her late father, asking Allah to grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear his loss.
“Thank you, Senator, for standing by our father. Thank you for standing by us. We will never forget your kindness,” she wrote.
