The visit coincided with the E1 Championship Fashion Showcase and Experience, held alongside the E1 Lagos Grand Prix, the first-ever E1 electric powerboat race on African soil. Lagos joined the ranks of Monaco, London, Jeddah, and Venice in hosting this pioneering event that highlights sustainable innovation and sports tourism. The fashion showcase brought together international beauty queens and championed environmental causes through humanitourism.
Sanwo-Olu hailed the E1 Lagos GP as more than a race, describing it as a celebration of Lagos’ spirit, innovation, and global influence. Wyclef Jean, acclaimed for his musical career with the Fugees and solo successes, is also known for his philanthropic and global advocacy work, making his visit symbolically resonant for Lagos’ vision.
