AYETORO, OGUN STATE – Significant strides are being made in the Phase 2 reconstruction of the Ibooro–Imasayi–Ayetoro Road in the Yewa North Local Government Area, a vital infrastructure project poised to revolutionize connectivity, enhance safety, and stimulate economic growth across the region.

This strategic road project, a flagship initiative of the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration, is divided into two crucial segments:
1.Phase 2A: Spanning approximately 3 kilometers, this section extends from the completion point of Phase 1, through Igan-Okoto, and on to Imasayi.
2.Phase 2B: Covering a distance of about 4 kilometers, this segment commences from Ayetoro town and progresses towards Igan-Okoto.
This past week, the commencement of Phase 2B officially began at the Ayetoro end of the corridor, with visible signs of transformation already taking shape. Simultaneously, preparations are actively underway for the imminent launch of Phase 2A from the Igan-Okoto axis in the coming days.
The current work builds upon the successful completion of Phase 1 of the Ibooro–Imasayi–Ayetoro Road, which was commissioned by Governor Abiodun, demonstrating his administration’s unwavering commitment to equitable infrastructural development across all zones of Ogun State. This commitment is particularly evident in long-neglected areas like Yewa North, which are now witnessing substantial investment.
The reconstruction of this road is part of a broader effort by the Ogun State government to upgrade and rehabilitate over 500 kilometers of roads across the state, with many other projects ongoing. The Ibooro-Imasayi-Ayetoro road is particularly strategic as it connects a largely agricultural region to major towns and markets, fostering easier movement of goods and people. The Abiodun administration has consistently prioritized rural road development, recognizing their importance in the state’s food supply chain and overall economic prosperity.
Residents of Yewa North and beyond are expressing optimism about the project’s potential to unlock new opportunities and improve their daily lives. The state government extends its gratitude to the local communities for their continued cooperation and patience as the work progresses.
This project underscores the “Building Our Future Together” mantra of the current administration, aiming to create a better and more connected Ogun State for all its citizen.
