The case involving Dr. Tijion Esho, a prominent UK-based Nigerian doctor known for his expertise in cosmetic surgery, has drawn attention after he lost his medical licenses due to misconduct.
According to reports from the Telegraph, Dr. Esho was found guilty of engaging in an improper relationship with a patient, referred to as Patient A, and providing free Botox injections in exchange for sex.
Dr. Esho admitted to having an improper emotional relationship with Patient A, including exchanging inappropriate sexual messages on Instagram.
While he initially denied any physical sexual contact with the patient, a Medical Practitioners Tribunal Service (MPTS) ruled that he did engage in sexual intercourse with her at his clinic in Newcastle upon Tyne and provided free Botox injections.
The tribunal also found instances where Dr. Esho made inappropriate comments about Patient A’s appearance, including stroking her hair and rubbing against her during consultations.
Additionally, he allowed Patient A to masturbate him during one consultation.

As a result of his misconduct, the tribunal deemed Dr. Esho’s fitness to practice as a doctor impaired and ordered the removal of his name from the medical register.
The tribunal’s reasons for this decision will be released in the coming week.
The inappropriate messages exchanged between Dr. Esho and Patient A on Instagram, spanning from July 2019 to February 2022, were cited as evidence during the tribunal.
These messages included explicit and suggestive content, indicating a sexual nature to their relationship.
The tribunal concluded that Dr. Esho’s conduct was sexually motivated, though Patient A was not deemed vulnerable due to her profession.
Botox injections, which Dr. Esho provided free of charge to Patient A, are commonly used in cosmetic procedures to relax muscles and reduce wrinkles.
Overall, Dr. Esho’s case underscores the importance of upholding professional standards and ethical conduct within the medical profession.
