Professor Olusola Bandele Oyewole, former Vice-Chancellor Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta ( FUNAAB) and current Secretary – General of the Association of African Universities (AAU) has been appointed as a Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology ( IAFoST).

As a Professor of Food Science and Technology specialising in Food Microbiology and Biotechnology, Prof. Oyewole has left indelible marks through his research, higher educational endeavours, and sustainable development initiatives across the African continent.
With his unparalleled leadership and unwavering dedication, Prof. Oyewole is shaping the future of higher education across Africa.
He was the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta from May 2012 to May, 2017. Professor Olusola Oyewole has over thirty six years’ experience working in the African higher education space, and has over one hundred scholarly publications to his credit.
His visionary leadership and tireless advocacy have been instrumental in shaping the future of higher education and fostering collaboration among universities across the continent.
Preparations are underway for Prof. Oyewole’s induction into the IAFoST at the forthcoming 22nd World Congress of Food Science and Technology in Rimini, Italy, scheduled for September 2024.
