In a significant step towards achieving balanced regional development, President Bola Tinubu has signed the South-West Development Commission (SWDC) and South-South Development Commission (SSDC) bills into law. This move, announced by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during a plenary session, completes Nigeria’s geo-political development framework. With these commissions, all six geo-political zones now have statutory development agencies, providing a uniform structure for addressing regional infrastructure and economic challenges.
