The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has asked its customers in Oyo, Ogun Osun, Kwara and parts of Niger, Ekiti and Kogi to help avert a looming total darkness.
In an SoS posted on its Twitter page on Friday, the distribution company informed that a prolonged power outage may be experienced from next month due to plan by the Transmission Company of Nigeria, TCN to disconnect IBEDC from the national grid over poor remittance.
TCN had earlier issued a 60 days grace period to 13 of the defaulting discos failure of which the will be disconnected from the national grid
The company had also last month disconnected Aba power limited, Kaduna Electric, and Kano Electricity Distribution Company.
The distribution companies are said to be indebted to the transmission company to the tune of billions of naira.
