The Nigeria Police Force, through its INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) in Abuja, has taken custody of Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, the fugitive suspect wanted for the abduction and alleged murder of a Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her young daughter in Osun State. The suspect was apprehended and handed over by the Ghana Police Service in Accra following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
Fejemirokun had fled Nigeria shortly after the brutal disappearance of FRSC officer Funmilayo Oluwamayokun Lasisi and her 16-year-old daughter, Sewa, who were last seen traveling to Osun State. The officer, a senior operational commander with the FRSC Ogun Sector, and her daughter were reportedly abducted on November 2, 2025. Investigations later revealed the victims were taken to a suspected herbalist’s compound in Osun, where they were allegedly murdered and mutilated.
The Ghana Police Service acted swiftly upon credible intelligence that Fejemirokun was hiding within their jurisdiction. He was arrested in Accra at a friend’s apartment, following the circulation of a viral video detailing his alleged involvement in the crimes. The Ghana Police immediately informed the Nigerian authorities, prompting a swift response from INTERPOL NCB Abuja, which facilitated the handover.
Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD., NPM, expressed condolences to the bereaved family and assured the public that the investigation into this grisly case would be exhaustive and conclude with appropriate prosecution of all involved. He praised the Ghana Police Service for their professionalism and close cooperation, noting this successful operation as a strong testament to the growing international collaboration against transnational crime.
This case highlights the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to protect every Nigerian and pursue justice relentlessly, even beyond national borders. Further investigations are ongoing as authorities continue to track down other suspects linked to the case, including a self-acclaimed herbalist believed to be central to the ritualistic aspect of the murders.
The Nigeria Police remains resolute in strengthening partnerships with regional and international law enforcement agencies to combat crime and enhance security across borders.
