Players, officials injured as gunmen attack Sunshine Stars team bus

Players and club officials of Sunshine stars were injured following an attack on the team bus by gunmen along the Ore-Benin expressway.

According to a statement by the club’s media officer, Michael Akintunde, the attack happened on Thursday afternoon.

He said the team was en route to honour their match day 13 of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture against Bendel Insurance this weekend.

Akintunde said a ball boy was shot in the attack while the team manager, other club officials and players were injured.
