In a profound display of enduring faith and divine timing, Pastor Mike Edo and his wife, Pastor Mrs. Faith Obasogie, have welcomed their first child after 18 years of marriage. This extraordinary news has sent a wave of joy and celebration through their congregation, friends, family, and the wider Christian community, serving as a powerful testimony to the couple’s unwavering trust in God.
A Journey Marked by Unshakable Faith
For nearly two decades, the absence of a child was the only silence in the lively household of the Edo family. Many couples faced with the challenge of delayed conception often face intense pressure, anxiety, and sometimes, a crisis of faith. However, Pastor Mike and Pastor Mrs. Faith Obasogie stood firm. They chose to transform their waiting period into a platform for ministering hope and resilience, never allowing their personal challenge to overshadow their spiritual calling.
“We married 18 years ago, and for all that time, we simply waited on the Lord,” Pastor Mike is reported to have shared. “We did not waiver in our faith. Our commitment was not to the outcome, but to the promise-giver.”
Their journey became a quiet, powerful example to many who follow their ministry, demonstrating that faith is not just for the mountain tops, but for the valleys and the long, silent stretches in between.
The Loudest Cry of Joy
The miraculous arrival of their baby is being hailed as an event truly orchestrated by the heavens—the literal answer to 18 years of prayers, tears, and declarations. The child’s birth marks a profound fulfillment, turning their season of expectation into a season of thanksgiving.
The outpouring of support has been immense. Congregants, fellow ministers, and well-wishers are celebrating what they describe as a spectacular act of grace. Testimonies and congratulatory messages flood social media platforms, with many quoting the scripture, “This is the doing of the LORD, and it is marvellous in our eyes.”
A close friend of the family noted, “To witness their joy is to witness the absolute faithfulness of God. They prayed for 18 years, and God answered with a gift that transcends human understanding. To God alone be the glory.”
