A pastor identified as Alex Itedjere in Agbarha-Otor community, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, had been accused of killing a young girl.
The remains of the unnamed victim was discovered inside Itedjere’s house.
According to reports, the pastor used a machete to butcher the young girl. Details as to why the deceased was killed remains unclear.
However, upon learning about the incident, angry youths in the community mobilized to seek justice for the young girl.
They were on the verge of lynching the pastor but for the timely interventtion of the police.
A human rights activist, Comrade Israel Joe, is advocating for justice to be served.
He called on Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Wale Abass, to launch an immediate investigation and prosecute the suspect according to the laws of the land.
