Partner Hunted After Woman’s Body Found Stuffed in Refrigerator

​RODRIGUEZ, RIZAL — Philippine authorities have launched an intense manhunt for a live-in partner following the grim discovery of a young woman’s body stuffed inside a horizontally laid refrigerator of a rented apartment in Barangay San Jose.

​The gruesome find came to light on September 16, when the property owner returned to the residential unit after days of unsuccessful attempts to reach the tenants regarding a lease agreement. Overwhelmed by a potent foul odor emanating from the premises, the landlord alerted local law enforcement.

​Responding officers forced entry to find the victim’s remains concealed within the appliance, which investigators noted had been tipped onto its side and draped with a blanket. Forensic experts reported visible neck injuries and recovered a length of rope at the scene, pointing strongly toward strangulation as the cause of death. Autopsy findings suggest the victim may have been dead for nearly a week, with neighbors reporting a heavy, unusual thud heard from inside the unit on the night of September 10.

According to police timelines, the couple had moved into the apartment on September 9. The last confirmed sighting of the woman alive occurred the following morning when she accepted a delivery package.

​Authorities investigating the background of the couple discovered that both the victim and her partner had previously faced separate legal troubles involving serious illegal detention charges. While the woman had recently posted bail, her partner remains a fugitive with an active, unrelated arrest warrant.

The victim’s father came forward after recognizing circulating descriptions, providing genuine identification documents after initial fake identification cards were recovered from the apartment.
