Ore, Ondo State – In a bid to significantly enhance power supply across Ondo State, the government is actively pursuing collaborations for the establishment of Independent Power Plants (IPPs) powered by Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). This initiative gained momentum yesterday with a visit by the Special Adviser on Power to the Governor, Engr. (Dr.) Johnson Jaiyeola Alabi, to the Power Gas facility located in Ore.

The Ondo State Power Company Ltd (OSPCL) is spearheading this ambitious project, which seeks to deliver a consistent and cost-effective electricity supply to various communities within the state.
During his inspection of the Power Gas facility, Engr. Alabi underscored the unwavering commitment of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa’s administration to prioritize energy development. He emphasized the crucial role of strategic partnerships with private sector entities in realizing the state’s power objectives.
“This administration is resolute in ensuring that every part of Ondo State has access to reliable power. We believe partnerships like this will be instrumental in achieving that goal,” Engr. Alabi stated.
He further conveyed Governor Aiyedatiwa’s vision for a unified and comprehensive power sector strategy that will tangibly benefit local communities and bolster the state’s industrial aspirations.
The visit is anticipated to lead to more in-depth discussions and potential agreements between the Ondo State Government and Power Gas in the near future.
