The death of Olabisi has reportedly set tongues wagging in the town as the town was thrown into mourning.

Both Ojerinde and Olabisi are from Igboho , Oyo State.

In 2021, two kinsmen of the embattled Ojerinde, Olabisi (Ph.D.) and Barr. Peter Oyewole, agreed to testify in the prosecution of Ojerinde who is standing trial in a N5.2 billion alleged corruption case.

Ojerinde according to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) is standing trial in the 18-count charge brought against him, of diverting public funds estimated at about N5.2 billion while he was the head of the National Examination Council (NECO), and later JAMB.

Both Olabisi and Oyewole allegedly played prominent roles in providing a safe haven for Ojerinde’s money laundering.

It was further reported that court documents filed by the prosecuting team, led by Ebenezer Shogunle, by the ICPC claimed that Olabisi and Oyewole allegedly served as conduits through which Ojerinde allegedly diverted public funds.

In a Facebook post to eulogize the deceased, a Senior Special Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on print media, Moses Alao described the late Olabisi as a giver, a carer, and a truly good man.

Prince Joel Oyeyiola, another indigene of the town also described the man as a kind, generous, and lively cheerleader and caregiver.

Morolahun Moses Oyedele remarked that no amount of words can be used to describe his benevolence.

Also commenting on Prince Joel Oyeyiola Facebook post on the deceased, Barr. Adesope Azeez, a former state assembly member beseeched God to be pleased with him.

Abel Heaven, a member of the Oyo youth parliament asked God to comfort his family.

Another Facebook user posted : “toYes, we have lost Dr. Jimoh Olatunde Olabisi to the cold hands of death. His demise is the most devastating. Finding it hard to wrap my head around such collosal loss! Dr. Olabisi’s service to this community and this country is stuff of legends. He has made his mark, at such an age. When you pray to God for help, it is people like Dr. Olabisi that you secretly wishes to meet: Generous in giving. Humbled in helping. Kind in dealings. Simple in living. Optimistic in thinking. Unstoppable in chasing. Down to earth in cheering. Oh, Allah, your slave has returned back to you. Accept his return. Forgive his shortcomings. Placed him in Al-Janatul Firdaous. Grant us all the fortitude to bear this heart wrenching loss. Azeez Fatai.
