Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu, Ogun State, has shown steadfast dedication to delivering high-quality healthcare by continuously upgrading its facilities, services, and infrastructure with the support of generous individuals and organizations. Under the leadership of Chief Medical Director Dr. Mrs. Oluwabunmi M. Fatungase, the hospital remains committed to providing accessible, affordable, and efficient medical care to Ogun State and beyond.
Major Infrastructure Developments
OOUTH has progressively enhanced its infrastructure through significant donations, including specialized centers like the Consultants Outpatients Clinic Building (2009), Diabetes Centre (2012), Uplift Cancer Screening Centre (2016), and the Covid-19 Isolation Treatment Centre (2020). More recent additions include the Dialysis Centre, Eye Clinic, Sexual Assault Referral Centre, Pediatric Surgical Ward, Rotary Prostate Cancer Centre, and an Oxygen Plant donated by UNICEF and IHS in 2023. The newly commissioned State-of-the-Art Trauma Centre (2025) and the under-construction Physiotherapy Building exemplify ongoing investments to improve critical and rehabilitative care.
Comprehensive Medical Services
OOUTH offers round-the-clock emergency services including trauma care, advanced surgical, renal dialysis, obstetrics and gynecology, pediatric, ophthalmic, and ENT services. Supportive care such as physiotherapy, dietetics, counseling, and crèche services further enhance patient welfare. The institution boasts well-equipped laboratories and radiology departments ensuring accurate diagnostics to support effective treatment.
Financial and Operational Growth
The hospital generated a revenue of ₦1.6 billion in 10 months in 2024 and aims to generate ₦3.1 billion in 2025, funding continued improvements and expansions. Planned projects include a new administrative block, a physiotherapy building with a stroke unit, and further development of the trauma center for comprehensive critical care. These investments are poised to enhance staff motivation, hospital image, and overall quality of healthcare delivery.
Ongoing Commitment
OOUTH remains grateful to the Ogun State Government for enabling an environment of collaboration with various partners. The hospital welcomes further partnerships for surgical outreaches and medical programs, aiming to rebuild trust and confidence in its services while maintaining the highest standards of care.
This enduring commitment defines OOUTH’s vision as a premier tertiary hospital that continually redefines healthcare delivery in Ogun State and Nigeria at large.
