Nigeria union of Journalists Ogun State chapter has clarify the misinformation circulating regarding the death of a colleague, Bukola Agbakaizu, a former Ex-officio of the council

This was contained in a memo released and Signed by the council Secretary, Bunmi Adigun
ValidViewNetwork had earlier reported that she died at the station due to the information available at the time of the incident.
“I write to clarify the misinformation circulating regarding the death of our esteemed colleague, Bukola Agbakaizu, a former Ex-Officio of the Council and a dedicated staff member of Ogun State Television.
To set the record straight, Bukola did not die in the office”.
She slumped at her home in Kemta Housing Estate, Idi Aba and subsequently rushed to the hospital where she was sadly confirmed dead” Adigun Added.
While expressing his concerns, he lamented that media outlets did not verify before publishing,
“We are disheartened to see that many colleagues rushed to publication without verifying facts, erroneously reporting that she slumped and died in the office.
This is categorically false.
Major outlets, including Vanguard, Punch, Sahara Reporter, Leadership Newspaper, and others, have propagated this misconception.
We urge these platforms to correct their articles to reflect the accurate circumstances surrounding her passing.
This is a sensitive time, and we should honor Bukola’s memory with the truth.
Her family and Ogun State Television deserve our respect and support as they grieve this profound loss.
May God grant strength to her family and colleagues during this difficult time”.
