Ogun State Head of Service Receives Prestigious NIPR Excellence Award for Public Relations Leadership

Abeokuta, Ogun State — In a distinguished ceremony held at Event Towers, Kuto, the Ogun State Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, was honored with the Award of Excellence in Professional Representation by the Ogun State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR). The accolade was presented in recognition of his exceptional contributions to public relations and the advancement of good governance in Ogun State.

The award was conferred during the much-anticipated “Owambe Night” event, marking the successful conclusion of the year’s activities for Ogun NIPR. Governor Engineer Noimot Salako Oyedele, who graced the occasion, commended NIPR for its vital role in bridging the gap between government institutions and the public, describing public relations as a strategic link that enhances transparency and fosters trust within society.

Highlighting the significance of the award, Dr. Ike Neliaku, the National President of NIPR, was represented by Council member Mr. Tope Adaramola at the event. They, along with Mr. Yomi Badejo-Okusanya, Chairman of the Nigeria Reputation Management Group Board, emphasized the critical functions of public relations in reputation safeguarding, stakeholder engagement, crisis communication, and strategic messaging pivotal to effective governance.

The ceremony also received warm commendations from the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ). Both NUJ Chairman Wale Olanrewaju and Secretary Bunmi Adigun congratulated Onasanya on the honor, pointing out that the award not only recognizes individual excellence but also reflects the commitment and professionalism characteristic of Ogun State’s public service leadership.
