The Ogun State Government has vowed to ensure that those responsible for the death of a 300 level student of Tai Solarin University of Education, TASUED, Ijagun are brought to book.
The state government, in a statement issued on Sunday and signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Waheed Adesina, condemned the dastardly act, while disclosing that the police have been instructed to invite all concerned, including the Baale of Imaweje village where the incident took place and unravel the immediate and remote causes of the death of the student.
ValidView Network had reported the killing of the student by residents of imaweje, the host community who labelled him a cultist.
Some students of the university had in protest allegedly set four houses, including that of the Baale of Imaweje, ablaze last week.
Following the violent protest by the students, the management of the institution had announced the immediate closure of the school and advised parents and guardians to recall their children and wards back home.
While condemning the killing of the student, the state government said no one has the right to take law into their own hands, assuring that every action necessary would be taken to punish all those involved.
The government appealed to the students of the institution to remain peaceful and law abiding, while waiting for the outcome of the police investigation
Meanwhile, the leadership of the National Association of Nigeria Students, NANS has declared Monday 5th June for protest over the death of a 300 level TASUED student.
The students body in a statement on Sunday said, “Having exhausted all other means of peaceful resolution to no avail, we’re now under constraint to take to the streets to further press our demands.”
NANS stated that despite several effort, none of the assailants have been arrested and innocent students still remain incarcerated up till now.

“We therefore enjoin all well meaning Students leaders to join us as we continue to demand #JusticeForAdebayo.”
According to the statement, the protest will take place at the Governor’s Office, Oke Mosan and Benin-Ore Expressway by 8am.
