The Ogun State Ministry of Budget and Planning is set to begin a series of Town Hall Meetings across the state’s four divisions as part of the public engagement exercise in preparation for the 2026 budget. These meetings aim to ensure an all-inclusive, participatory budgeting process where citizens and stakeholders can contribute their inputs for the state’s development priorities.
The schedule includes the Ijebu division’s first meeting on Tuesday, October 14th, 2025, at Bisrod Hotel, Ijebu-Ode, starting at 11am. This will be followed by the Remo division meeting on Thursday, October 16th, 2025, held at the Akarigbo Palace Hall, Sagamu, also by 11am. Subsequently, the Yewa division meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, at Frontier Hotel, Ilaro, and the Egba division will hold its meeting on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, both beginning by 11am. Participants are expected to be seated by 10am to facilitate prompt proceedings.
The initiative, led by the Honorable Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Mr. Olaolu Olabimtan, seeks to gather valuable citizen contributions to inform the 2026 budget and is in line with the state’s commitment to transparency, inclusiveness, and fiscal responsibility. These town hall meetings are part of the broader Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) engagement activities that also include digital avenues for contribution.
