The family of veteran Nigerian actor Babatunde Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has thanked Nigerians and fans across the world for their prayers and support while warning against fraudsters seeking money in the actor’s name.
Ogogo’s daughter, Kira Wunmi Taiwo, issued the warning in a post shared on her verified Facebook page on Wednesday, where she expressed the family’s appreciation for the overwhelming show of love towards her father.
Kira said the family was deeply grateful to Nigerians and fans around the world who had reached out with prayers, goodwill, encouragement and other forms of support. She specifically acknowledged churches, Muslim faithfuls, traditionalists, news channels, bloggers and colleagues in the entertainment industry for continuing to show concern and stand with the actor.“We are deeply grateful to everyone who has reached out in one way or another,” she said.

Ogogo’s Family Warns Against Fake Fundraisers
While appreciating the public for its support, Kira used the message to issue a clear warning against anyone attempting to raise money in her father’s name.
She stated that Ogogo was not soliciting funds from the public and urged fans and members of the public to be cautious of anyone requesting or collecting money on his behalf.
“We would also like to use this opportunity to inform the general public that Babatunde Taiwo Hassan Ogogo is not soliciting for funds from the public,” Kira wrote.
“Please be cautious of anyone requesting or collecting money in his name. Such individuals are not authorized to do so.”
ValidViewNetwork reports that the warning is coming as Nigerians and fans of the veteran actor continue to show concern and solidarity towards him. The family’s message is therefore not a fundraising appeal.
Rather, it serves as a caution to supporters who may be approached by individuals claiming to represent Ogogo or his family.
Family Appreciates Fans Worldwide
Kira also expressed gratitude to the different groups and individuals who have continued to support her father during this period. She thanked supporters in Nigeria and abroad for their prayers, encouragement and goodwill, saying their kindness had not gone unnoticed.
The family also recognized the support coming from different religious and traditional communities, as well as media organizations, bloggers and Ogogo’s colleagues in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
ValidViewNetwork reports that the family’s statement combines a heartfelt appreciation for the public’s support with a direct warning against unauthorized financial appeals.
Kira concluded by thanking everyone at home and abroad for what she described as a tremendous show of love and support.
“Your prayers, encouragement, and goodwill mean so much to us,” she said.
The family has consequently urged members of the public to remain vigilant and avoid giving money to anyone claiming to be collecting funds for Ogogo without authorization. ValidViewNetwork reports.
