Oloye Olajuwon Enitan Subair, the youngest Mogaji of Ile Nla, Anlugbua in Ibadan, has publicly congratulated Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja on his formal ascension as Olubadan of Ibadan Land.
Describing Oba Ladoja as “a shining light of hope for every young and promising Ibadan man who aspires to lead,” Mogaji Olajuwon praised the monarch’s legacy, principles, and unwavering sense of purpose as a source of inspiration for the youth.
He emphasized that the Olubadan throne is a matter of destiny rather than age, saying, “Baba is an Atobatele. The Olubadan throne is not about age—it is about fate and destiny.” Mogaji Olajuwon highlighted the depth of Ibadan’s chieftaincy heritage, cautioning critics against reform efforts that overlook over 200 years of tradition: “There is hardly any proposed reform today that has not been tried or tested in Ibadan’s chieftaincy history.”
He further described the new Olubadan as “a father, an icon, and a living symbol of the Yoruba people’s resilience and unity.”
“We believe this marks the dawn of a new era aimed at repositioning the Olubadan institution to its rightful stature in Yorubaland. The Olubadan is not merely king over Ibadan but embodies the continuity of the last Yoruba Empire,” he concluded.
This statement from the youngest Mogaji reflects the profound expectations and respect surrounding Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja’s leadership as Ibadan’s revered traditional ruler.
