NSCDC : ‘Tunde Alabi, a UNAAB graduate, others decorated as commandants

Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has on Thursday decorated new Commandants.

Among those decorated is Babatunde Alabi, a 1999/ 2000 graduate of the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta.

Babatunde Alabi graduated from the Department of Forestry and Wildlife Management. He later obtained his first Master Degree in Business Administration at Ladoke Akintola University (LAUTECH), in 2010 and his second Master Degree in International and European Security at University of Geneva, Switzerland in 2012. 

‘Tunde Alabi started with NSCDC as a volunteer in 1993. This goes a long way to confirm his love, commitment and determination to contribute his quota to the development of the country.

He was a member of the Man O War at the prestigious University of Agriculture, Abeokuta where he served as Chief Training Officer and Commander in Chief of the Man O’ War between 1998 and 1999.

In the year 2004, when the Federal Government of Nigeria absorbed NSCDC as a Security Agency, he was appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Corps (DSC) due to his wealth of experience. He has served in various capacities starting from his immediate environment in Abeokuta.

In February 2019, he was transferred to Edo State and appointed as head of Technical department till 2021. He was redeployed as head of intelligence and investigations for four months and was later redeployed as second in command to the commandant till his appointment as Commandant.

Commandant Babatunde Alabi has been to many countries including China, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and others for trainings in relevant skills and competences.

Babatude Alabi is into Agricultural services Crops, and Livestock. He encourages youngsters to develop interest in Agro- Investment. ValidViewNetwork reports that he started his investments in Agricultural practice from his days at the University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. It can also be confirmed that he was one of the few investors in large scale farming in Odeda local goverment around 2003.

He has won several awards among which are from his alma mater, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta Alumni Association, Man o War, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokkuta and Chattered Institute of Public Diplomacy and Mangement.

He has been widely described as an embodiment of humility and perseverance by his colleagues at the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. Despite his very tight schedule, he finds time to fraternise with them both virtually and physically. He is refered to as Statesman by his colleagues, ValidViewNetwork reports.

He is a loving husband to his wife and caring father to his wonderful children .

Babatunde Alabi is a honourary Chieftaincy tittle holder of Iloro Ekiti, Traditional Council being Otunbalogun of Iloro Ekiti and he is also the Bobagbimon of Obantoko, Abeokuta.
