CLAVERTON, Warwickshire — A peaceful upmarket village is grappling with shock after Neil Muller, the newly appointed CEO of leading technology firm Node4, was fatally stabbed at his £2.5 million country home.
Muller, 54, suffered fatal stab wounds to his chest in the early hours of Sunday, June 7, at his gated five-bedroom property on Langley Road in Claverdon. Paramedics arrived at 6:15 am but were unable to save him; he was declared dead at the scene just 22 minutes later.
Arrest and Investigation
A 55-year-old woman from Birmingham was arrested on suspicion of murder at 7:33 am, approximately an hour after Muller was found injured. She has since been released on bail while police enquiries continue. Warwickshire Police confirmed the investigation is ongoing and stated there is “no wider risk to the public”.
The victim was found at his property on Sunday morning, with police responding to reports of a man requiring urgent medical assistance after sustaining a chest stab wound.
Industry Tributes
Muller had only recently joined Node4 as Group CEO in April 2026, but made “a meaningful impact in a short space of time” according to the Derby-based technology services provider.
“We are absolutely devastated by the death of our CEO Neil Muller,” a Node4 spokesman said. “He brought real energy, momentum and passion to the business, and his loss will be deeply felt by people across Node4 and the wider industry”.
Family and Community Shock
Muller’s father Brian, 81, told the Daily Mail the family remains waiting for details about what happened. “I had a phone call from the police at 9am on Monday morning to say Neil had died, but we’ve not been told anything else,” he said.
The married father of two was known locally for his involvement in village life. “Neil did a lot for the local football club,” one unnamed resident said. “It is a real shock and a real loss to the village”.
Previous reports indicate Muller was formerly CEO of Daisy Group before joining Node4. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death continues as police work to establish the full details of the incident.
