The New Nigeria Peoples Party, NNPP has announced the expulsion of the party chair in Ogun and Delta states over allegation of anti-party activities and other offences.
The national publicity secretary of NNPP, Dr. Agbo Major who announced the development during a press conference in Abuja, said the chairmen were expelled after they failed to appear before the Disciplinary Committee set up to investigate alleged anti party activities in Ogun, Delta and Edo states chapter of the party.
Major said the national working committee (NWC) of the party took the decision to expelled Chief Efe Tobor (Delta) and Comrade Olaposi Sunday Ogini (Ogun) at its meeting on Thursday, April 27, 2023.
“It is very disheartening that some members of our Party engaged in anti-party activities by aligning openly with other parties in the last election.”
“Unfortunately, some States Chairmen and their Executives, apart from very loud anti-Party activities were accused of plethora of wrongdoings which negated their oath of office.”
The party also dissolved the Executives from the State, down to the Local Government and Ward levels in Delta and Ogun States effective Thursday, April 27, 2023.
He further stated that the expulsion of both Chief Efe Tobor and Comrade Olaposi Ogini will be taken to the National Executive Committee (NEC) and the National Convention for ratification.
ValidView Network had reported the disagreement between the state chairman in Ogun, Olaposi Oginni and the national body over the former’s decision to withdraw its petition against Governor Dapo Abiodun, APC and INEC at the election petition tribunal.
