Abeokuta, Ogun State – The Ogun State Executive Council, under the leadership of Governor Dapo Abiodun, has approved the construction and reconstruction of 14 new roads across the state. This decision, reached at last Wednesday’s council meeting, is part of the administration’s ongoing commitment to enhance infrastructure and improve connectivity in all senatorial districts.
List of Newly Approved Road Projects:
1.Akute Bridge to Agbado (Lateef Jakande) Train Terminal/Pass/Agbado Bridge – Road to Agbado train station Ifo LGA 9.2 km
2. Iperu Junction to Ilishan Roundabout (Gateway International Airport Road) Ikenne LGA 5.5 km
3. Ogbeere-Orita Mobi Junction Road Ijebu East LGA 5.4 km
4 . Erinlu-Imosan Road Odogbolu LGA 3.2 km
5. Imasayi-Igan Okoto-Ayetoro Road, Phase 2B Yewa North LGA 4 km
6. Imasayi (end of Phase 1) to Igan Okoto, Phase 2A Yewa North LGA 3 km
7. Gao Junction to Ibiade Road Ogun Waterside LGA 3.8 km
8. Abeokuta Obalende-Ijebu Ode Road Abeokuta/Ijebu Ode 2.75 km
9. Osinubi New Road (Araromi Street) Ijebu Ode 1.1 km
10 Tam Balogun Road Ijebu Ode 0.85 km
11. Federal College Road Odogbolu LGA 2.93 km
12. General Hospital – Aferiku Road Ipokia LGA 2.8 km

Governor Abiodun emphasized that these projects are strategically distributed to ensure balanced development and improved access for residents and businesses. The administration has reiterated its pledge to deliver quality infrastructure that will stand the test of time and support economic growth across Ogun State.
The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Ade Akinsanya, noted that the new roads will address long-standing transportation challenges, enhance connectivity to key economic hubs, and improve the quality of life for citizens. The projects also include critical access routes to train terminals, hospitals, educational institutions, and major markets.
This latest approval adds to the administration’s record of extensive road construction, with over 700 kilometers completed in recent years, and reflects the government’s resolve to sustain infrastructural development in all parts of the state.
