Gift Azubuike has been arrested and is currently detained at the Kwale Divisional Police Headquarters in Delta State for alleged child abuse.
This incident has sparked widespread outrage and calls for justice from concerned citizens and advocacy groups.
According to reports, Azubuike had been subjecting the child under her care to daily abuse, a claim corroborated by testimonies from neighbours who witnessed the mistreatment.
Harrison Gwamnishu, a human rights advocate from the Human Rights Office in Asaba, shared this information on his social media account on Wednesday.
Gwamnishu revealed that Azubuike had allegedly boasted about having complete authority over the child and claimed to be beyond the reach of any governing body.
“She has been arrested and is currently detained at Kwale Divisional Police Headquarters (Delta State),” Gwamnishu confirmed.
He called on authorities to transfer the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Asaba for further investigation.
