NDLEA Docks Lagos Socialite ‘KC Luxury’ Over Alleged 184.5kg Cocaine Syndicate

​The Federal High Court in Lagos has ordered the remand of popular social media influencer and luxury goods dealer, Afolabi Kazeem Michael—widely known as KC Luxury—alongside two co-accused persons, following their arraignment by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

​The trio was docked before Justice Ayokunle Olayinka Faji on a 22-count charge encompassing international narcotics trafficking, illegal drug exports, conspiracy, and money laundering.

​The charges stem from an intelligence-led operation that uncovered an alleged syndicate specializing in moving massive illicit shipments through courier networks. According to court documents marked FHC/LAG/CR/755/2026, the defendants allegedly conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, to dispatch 184.5 kilograms of cocaine concealed across five separate consignments destined for London, United Kingdom.

​The prosecution, led by NDLEA counsel Abu Ibrahim, informed the court that the shipments—routed via a Lagos-based courier logistics firm utilizing specific airway bills under the alias Yemi Ejide—were part of a wider transnational pipeline. Accomplices Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch were accused of procuring logistics facilitation and processing the illicit parcels, while Afolabi was specifically linked to coordinating internal courier processing and maintaining unlawful possession of the narcotics.

​The syndicate’s operations previously drew intense public focus following Afolabi’s dramatic interception by anti-narcotics operatives on August 13, 2026, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport while reportedly attempting to board a flight to Paris. Subsequent searches of his high-profile residence on Banana Island, Ikoyi, yielded foreign currencies, luxury assets, and exotic vehicles, culminating in an overall seizure valued by anti-graft authorities in the billions.

​Entering a formal plea of not guilty, the defendants through their legal counsel attempted to secure freedom via bail applications. However, prosecuting counsel vehemently opposed the application, highlighting the immense severity and scale of the alleged offenses.

​Justice Faji subsequently ordered that all three defendants be remanded within the custody of the NDLEA facility. The matter has been adjourned to October 4, 2026, for the court to deliver its ruling on the pending bail applications.
