Not sure this ever happened anywhere in the world before. A country, after democratic elections, swears in a female president and a female vice president plus a majority of its cabinet ministers being women! And, wait for more.

The Speaker of Parliament is also a woman! Yes! That country is in Africa and that country is Namibia which gained independence just 35 years ago (21 March 1990). On 21 March 2025, President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah was sworn into office as Namibia’s President – the first woman to do so.
She appointed Lucia Witbooi as Vice President. She announced a cabinet of 14 ministers and wait for this: 8 out of the 14 are women! The 14 ministers are to be assisted by 7 deputies.
Moreover, the third topmost job in Namibia has also gone to a woman! The Speaker of the National Assembly is Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila. She is the first woman to serve as Speaker. Their transformational success for the southern African country will be a major boost for women in leadership.
Really interesting.
