Four days following the tragic killings of military officers and civilians in the Okuama community of Ughelli South Local Government Area in Delta State, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori undertook a visit to the troubled community on Monday to assess the extent of the devastation.
However, journalists were barred from covering the governor’s assessment tour by the military Joint Task Force (JTF).
The JTF personnel deployed an armoured personnel carrier tank to barricade the major entry points to Okuama, effectively halting vehicular and human traffic, including members of the media, from accessing the community.

Despite the restrictions, Governor Oborevwori managed to meet with the leader of the military JTF, Major General Jamaal Abdulsalam, upon his arrival.
The two engaged in a closed-door meeting that lasted approximately one hour.
Further details regarding the outcomes of the meeting are expected to be provided later.
