Ibadan, Oyo State – Oyo State Governor, ‘Seyi Makinde, has announced the appointment of a chairman and members for the Oyo State Local Government Commission, pending approval from the State House of Assembly. The Governor has also expanded the Oyo State Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing) with the immediate appointment of additional members.

The new appointments, formalized in a letter signed by the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, see Hon. Akinwale Akinwole named as the Chairman of the Local Government Commission. Other appointees to the commission include Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi and Alhaji Oke Taiwo as full-time members, while Mr. John Abisoye Adisa-Oke and Mrs. Nike Arewa will serve as part-time members. Their roles will be officially confirmed following ratification by the Oyo State House of Assembly.
This announcement follows the earlier appointment of Alhaji Hashim Atere as Chairman and Alhaji Abdulrasheed Olokuta as Vice Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Board (Muslim Wing). Governor Makinde has now further strengthened the board with the immediate inclusion of Abdu Rahman Agbotomokekere, Amusat Ayyub Agboola, Dawud Afolabi, Latifat Dairo, and Mallam Abdusallam Abdullateef as members.
Governor Makinde extended his congratulations to all the appointees, emphasizing the significance of their new responsibilities as a call to public service for the betterment of Oyo State.
