PSG has reportedly suspended Lionel Messi for two weeks due to his unsanctioned trip to Saudi Arabia, where he was pictured with his family.
The team lost to mid-table Lorient on Sunday and were supposed to come training on Monday.According to sources, PSG did not approve of the trip, and both the manager and the sporting director had not given permission. As a result, Messi is said to have been punished severely for his actions by been banned from training and playing for two weeks, as well as having his pay docked.
The suspension would mean that he will miss the upcoming league matches against Troyes and Ajaccio. This incident also adds to the growing uncertainty surrounding Messi’s future with the club, despite previous reports suggesting that he would sign a new deal to remain in Paris beyond this summer.
