ACCRA — Legal representatives for Ghanaian actress and fashion icon Rosemond Akua Adobea, widely known as Nana Akua Addo, have confirmed that the domestic dispute involving her and her family is now under active investigation by state authorities.
The controversy erupted after harrowing video clips surfaced across social media platforms, capturing physical confrontations and distress involving the public figure and her children. In a formal notice issued by her legal counsel, Nkrabeah & Associates, the firm clarified that the sensitive material was disseminated without the client’s knowledge, authorization, or consent.
Describing the widespread online circulation as a severe breach of privacy, the legal team stressed that the matter has officially transitioned into a judicial and law enforcement process.
“We are grateful for the timely intervention and responsiveness of the Ghana Police and are confident in the competence of our court systems to stand up against domestic violence in our society,” the statement read.
The firm specifically appealed to media outlets and social media users to halt the re-sharing of the footage, highlighting the presence of minors in the recordings. Counsel emphasized that continued publication poses direct risks to the psychological well-being of the young victims, who are already grappling with significant trauma from the incident.
While expressing gratitude for swift police involvement, the legal team noted that Nana Akua Addo intends to address the public directly regarding the circumstances of the dispute once appropriate legal milestones are met. In the interim, representatives have requested that both media organizations and the general public afford the family necessary privacy as judicial proceedings unfold.
