
The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed that the investigation into the disappearance of Adedamola Ogunbode, a 2024 graduate of Lagos State University (LASU), has escalated into an active murder case. Police Spokesman Benjamin Hundeyin disclosed that three suspects have been arrested, while five others are currently at large.
Those arrested include Pastor Whepetoji Sunday, who allegedly received ₦70,000 from Ogunbode’s account, and Sheriff Adebayo, a church member who received ₦300,000. Omolara Ajisomo was apprehended for aiding the escape of suspects. The suspects on the run, Teniola and Olaoluwa Ajisomo, each received ₦300,000 and have fled to Cotonou, Benin Republic.
Hundeyin stated that significant progress has been made, with efforts focused on locating the body and determining the cause of death. The Commissioner of Police has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department to take over the case for a thorough probe, ensuring no political interference and impartial justice.
