Bola Abiodun, a landlord, and her husband, known simply as Sunday, have reportedly fled their residence in Temidire community, located in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.
This comes after allegedly disposing of their tenant’s body in a canal.
The incident occurred around 12:05 pm on May 8, 2024, prompting the state police command to initiate a search for the couple following their disappearance post the alleged crime.
According to a police source familiar with the matter, the tenant, identified as Iya Ibukun, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on May 5, 2024.
Sustaining injuries, she resorted to self-medication due to concerns over medical expenses. Sadly, she passed away in her apartment a few days later.

Concerned residents alerted Mosuru Akindele, the chairman of the Community Development Association, who in turn informed the police about the suspected incident.
Olabode Kazeem, the youth leader, was also notified.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, stated that efforts were underway to retrieve the body from the canal.
Upon investigation, police found a two-year-old boy in a welfare facility within the house.
This incident echoes a similar one from a few years ago, where a landlord named Sunday Omosule was apprehended for allegedly killing his tenant’s four-year-old son with a pestle in Onipanu, Ota, in the Ado Odo/Ota Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Omosule was arrested following a distress call to the police, with the victim claiming to be under spiritual attack during interrogation.
