Akure, Ondo State – In a shocking development that has gripped Ondo State, police have unraveled a horrifying plot leading to the kidnap, rape, and murder of two Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) students, allegedly masterminded by their own landlord.
The Ondo State Police Command, during a recent press briefing by the Commissioner of Police, detailed the chilling events that led to the deaths of 25-year-old Abah John Friday and 19-year-old Okah Andrel Eloho.
The case began on June 24, 2025, when G.O. Omoedu & Co., legal representatives for the victims’ families, filed a missing persons report. The students had vanished on June 20 after leaving their Akungba residence. Forensic tracking tools deployed by the Anti-Kidnapping Unit traced an iPhone 14 Pro Max belonging to one of the victims to Computer Village in Ikeja, Lagos.
This led to the arrest of Abdul Mohammed Mubarak, 38, who confessed to purchasing the phone from one Ojo Michael. Michael was subsequently apprehended in Aramoko-Ekiti, found in possession of the victims’ Lexus RX 350.
Under intense interrogation, Michael reportedly confessed to the full horror of the crime. He revealed that he and accomplices had abducted the students on the direct instruction of Oladele Femi, the landlord of Abah John. During their captivity, N800,000 was reportedly transferred from the victims’ account. Michael further admitted to raping the female victim, Okah Andrel Eloho. Tragically, upon recognizing him, both she and Abah John Friday were brutally executed to prevent their identities from being revealed.
The perpetrators then disposed of the bodies at separate locations between Agbado and Ode-Ekiti. Following Michael’s confession, the landlord, Oladele Femi, was arrested and confirmed his role in orchestrating the heinous crime. He also assisted police in recovering the female victim’s body from a bush near Ode-Ekiti. Efforts are currently underway to locate the male victim’s remains, believed to have been dumped in a river.
