Lagos Ring Explodes: Phyna Knocks Out Nkechi Blessing, Efe Stops Darlington in Epic Showdown

LAGOS — The Federal Palace Hotel in Victoria Island turned into an absolute colosseum of drama, glitz, and raw combat on October 1, 2026, as Balmoral Group Promotions hosted its high-stakes “Chaos in the Ring” event. Amidst a backdrop of professional championship fights, the night’s celebrity bouts stole the spotlight, culminating in explosive victories for reality star Josephina “Phyna” Otabor and skit maker Carter Efe.

The marquee female celebrity showdown lived up to its chaotic billing as Phyna knocked out actress Nkechi Blessing in the fourth and final round of their fiercely contested bout. What began weeks prior as a bitter digital feud—sparked by a failed collaboration and amplified by explosive social media exchanges, egg-throwing incidents, and heated physical face-offs—finally reached its boiling point inside the squared circle.

Nkechi Blessing pressed forward aggressively through the early rounds, attempting to land heavy blows. However, a composed Phyna utilized disciplined footwork and energy conservation, wearing down her opponent before delivering a decisive fourth-round knockdown that left Blessing unable to beat the referee’s count.

The victory earned Phyna a lucrative ₦50 million cash prize, a championship belt, and a brand-new 2026 electric vehicle, cementing her status as the first female celebrity champion in the series’ history. Celebrating her triumph in the ring, Phyna wasted no time calling out actress Etinosa Idemudia, who was watching from ringside and swiftly accepted a prospective future bout.

The entertainment continued when Carter Efe extended his undefeated streak in the celebrity series by securing a technical knockout against controversial artist Speed Darlington. Efe dictated the tempo across four lopsided rounds until the referee halted the bout, sealing another dominant performance for the skit maker following his earlier victory over Habeeb “Portable” Badmus.

Beyond the celebrity fireworks, the professional card delivered high-level action, headlined by Ghana’s Seth “Freezy Macbones” Gyimah dethroning Nigeria’s Godday “Zodsolo” Appah via a unanimous decision to capture the prestigious WBO African Light Heavyweight Continental Championship.
