Lagos Police Hunt Woman over Viral Ritual Killing Claims at Thirty 8 Restaurant

The Lagos State Police Command has launched a manhunt for a woman who has gone viral on social media accusing the Thirty 8 Restaurant on Airport Road, Lagos, of being involved in ritual killings and the sale of human body parts. In the widely circulated video, the woman alleged she was locked inside the restaurant’s restroom during a visit and described the venue as a “dungeon” where numerous killings allegedly occurred.

However, the police have dismissed these claims as completely baseless and false following a thorough investigation ordered by the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Olohundare Jimoh. The Deputy Commissioner in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department led the probe and found no evidence to support the allegations.

Police Public Relations Officer CSP Benjamin Hundeyin warned the public against spreading such unfounded rumors, noting that such misinformation could incite public panic and damage legitimate businesses. He urged Lagos residents to disregard the video and instead continue patronizing the restaurant without fear.

Meanwhile, the restaurant management has categorically denied the accusations as malicious and asserted that the accusations are a deliberate attempt to tarnish their reputation, possibly driven by business rivals. They have instituted legal proceedings against the woman and her associate who posted the claims online and expressed confidence that justice will prevail.

The police have appealed for anyone with credible information about the identity of the woman or those behind the viral video to come forward. The command assured that tips will be handled confidentially and that appropriate legal action will be taken against those found spreading false information and causing public unrest.
