
The management and staff of Lagos State-owned broadcast stations, Traffic Radio (96.1 FM), Radio Lagos (107.5 FM), and Eko FM (89.7 FM), warmly received the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Lanre Adetokunbo Bajulaye, during his official visit on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. The visit underscored the Ministry’s commitment to strengthening collaboration and enhancing strategic communication across the State’s media platforms.

General Manager of Traffic Radio, Mr. Eyitayo Akanle, alongside Mr. Jide Lawal, General Manager of Radio Lagos and Eko FM, expressed appreciation for the Permanent Secretary’s leadership and reaffirmed the importance of the visit in reinforcing the synergy between the Ministry and the broadcast stations.

Mr. Lawal highlighted the critical role of Radio Lagos and Eko FM in disseminating government information across multiple languages including English, Yoruba, Pidgin, and Ogu, ensuring inclusiveness and broad public engagement. He mentioned flagship programmes such as “Asayan Iroyin Yoruba,” a popular newspaper review show, “Ojutaye,” the flagship breakfast programme, and “Bo Senlo Lafe Moju,” a morning drive-time interview series addressing societal issues.

Mr. Akanle emphasized Traffic Radio’s pioneering status as Nigeria’s first dedicated traffic station with innovative programmes like “Live Motobike Traffic Updates”, “Live Camera Updates of Lagos City Traffic,” and “Waterways Traffic Update.” He pledged the station’s ongoing commitment to enhancing the daily commute experience for Lagos residents.

Both General Managers conveyed their gratitude for the Ministry’s unwavering support and highlighted ongoing plans to upgrade studio infrastructure, refine staff deployment, and integrate operations digitally to improve efficiency and service delivery.
In his remarks, Mr. Bajulaye commended the creativity, dedication, and professionalism of the teams across the stations for consistently promoting government programmes. He encouraged continued innovation and collaboration to sustain the legacy of these state-owned broadcast institutions. He reaffirmed the Ministry’s support in line with the directive from the State Head of Service to prioritize enhanced publicity through patronage of state-owned media.

Mr. Bajulaye was accompanied by Director of the Strategy Centre, Mr. Kayode Oyekanmi, and Director of Social Media, Dr. Jide Atansuyi, during the visit to the stations’ headquarters.
