
Applicants who have applied online to the Lagos State Health Service Commission (HSC) and meet all the requirements, possessing the necessary documents, have been called up for a Computer-Based Test (CBT) examination.
The recruitment process by the Commission strongly underscores the importance the State Government attached to providing employment for its teeming youths regularly.

The exams, for all categories in the vacancies advertised for three weeks, took place inside the premises of JKK, along Ikorodu Road, Lagos.
Scores of applicants, including nursing mothers and pregnant women, turned out early enough for the one-day exercise.

Officials from the Career Management Department in charge of the exercise, including representatives from concerned Departments and Units, were also on the ground to attend to the job seekers, verifying their certificates, letters of invitation for the exams, as well as other means of identification, to forestall discrepancies
Speaking at the event, the new Permanent Secretary to the Commission, Dr. Cecilia Abimbola Mabogunje, enjoined all applicants to stay focused, do their best, answer as much as they can and generally avoid any incriminating things that could jeopardise their chances, saying “I look forward to working with some of you”.

She informed them that only those who did very well would be called up for an oral interview by the Commission, and successful candidates would be picked purely on merit.
She, in the same vein, toured the premises, going from floor to floor, verifying and assessing the proceedings, as well as monitoring the applicants as they worked with the computers before them.
Pertinent questions were asked by the Permanent Secretary from officials of the company and from the Director of Career Management towards a better understanding of the proceedings.

The Permanent Secretary, who is observing the first recruitment exercise under her tenure, was well pleased with the preparations, arrangements, and general conduct at the venue for the exams for the applicants from various medical disciplines.
On her part, the Director, Career Management, Mrs. Funke Ojo, said the exercise is a yearly programme, on the approval of Governor Babajide Olushola Sanwo-Olu, under the Global Employment system, saying everything is being done to ensure that the exercise is hitch-free.

Advertised vacancies include consultants in various specialities, senior registrar, medical officers, dental officers, pharmacists, physiotherapists, and Med. Lab . Scientist, Optometrist, Radiographer, Nursing Officers, and Dental Therapist.
Others are Pharmacy Technicians, Medical Lab Technicians, Medical House Officers, and interns in various medical disciplines.
