Gospel drama minister Kolade Segun Okeowo, widely known as KSO, has unleashed a scathing rebuke against Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti over inflammatory allegations leveled at the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The uproar stems from a viral video circulating on social media platforms like Instagram and X (formerly Twitter), where Seun Kuti recounted an alleged story of a wealthy Nigerian family flying a terminally ill cancer patient from abroad to Nigeria. He claimed the family paid $250,000 at the RCCG Redemption Camp, expecting Pastor Adeboye to heal her. According to Seun, the patient died on site, yet camp officials instructed mourners not to cry, promising to raise her from the dead—a promise that never materialized. Seun used the anecdote to broadly accuse Nigerian pastors of exploiting vulnerable people desperate for miracles.

KSO, a prominent Christian creative and founder of the KSO Drama Ministry, labeled these remarks “outrageous,” “slanderous,” and “infra dignitatem”—Latin for beneath dignity. In a public statement shared across his social media handles, he dismissed the claims as a “vile concoction of lies” and accused Seun of attention-seeking at the expense of a respected elder. “Accusing Pastor Adeboye of pocketing $250,000 for a failed ‘healing’? Absurd! The man of God isn’t a charlatan peddling miracles; he’s a humble servant pointing to THE Healer,” KSO wrote.

The controversy has ignited fierce debates online, with many Christians defending Pastor Adeboye, 83, whose decades-long ministry has drawn millions to RCCG’s global network of over 40,000 parishes. Supporters highlight his emphasis on prayer and faith over financial transactions, noting that healing services at Redemption Camp are free and open to all. Critics of Seun, son of Afrobeat legend Fela Kuti, point to his history of provocative statements on religion and politics, branding him an “enfant terrible.”

Online searches reveal this isn’t Seun’s first clash with religious figures. In recent months, he has repeatedly criticized “pastorpreneurs” on podcasts and social media, alleging systemic exploitation in Nigeria’s megachurches. No concrete evidence has surfaced to corroborate the specific $250,000 claim against Pastor Adeboye, and RCCG officials have yet to issue a formal response as of December 25, 2025. Seun’s video, posted around mid-December, has amassed over 500,000 views, fueling hashtags like #DefendAdeboye and #SeunKutiExposed.

KSO demanded an “unreserved apology” from the 42-year-old singer, urging the public to reject “nonsensical speculation” and uphold truth. “Pastor Adeboye’s integrity remains untouched. God’s servant, not a scammer. Period,” he concluded.

Here’s KSO’s full statement, edited lightly for clarity:

FROM SEUN KUTI TO DADDY ADEBOYE: WHAT A NONSENSICAL SPECULATION!!!!

THIS IS OUTRAGEOUS!!!!

Seun Kuti’s slanderous claims against Pastor E.A. Adeboye are a vile concoction of lies, devoid of truth or decency. This baseless attack on a revered spiritual leader is not just reckless – it’s infra dignitatem (beneath dignity).

If Seun Kuti wants media attention, is this the way to go about it? Very shameful and degrading of the young man who has been nothing but an enfant terrible in recent times.

Accusing Pastor Adeboye of pocketing $250,000 for a failed “healing”? Absurd! The man of God isn’t a charlatan peddling miracles; he’s a humble servant pointing to THE Healer.

Such nonsensical speculation deserves zero tolerance. Seun Kuti owes Pastor Adeboye (a man old enough to be his father over and over again) an unreserved apology for maligning his character and spreading toxic falsehoods.

Pastor Adeboye’s integrity remains untouched. God’s servant, not a scammer. Period.

Enough is enough. Let’s call out this nonsense and stand with the truth.

KSO Speaks

This feud underscores deepening tensions between Nigeria’s entertainment and religious spheres, where public figures increasingly challenge faith leaders amid economic hardships.
