The management of King (Dr.) Saheed Osupa announces the formal withdrawal of the legal case against Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, following Osupa’s personal directive.
The case was initially filed due to serious violations of intellectual property rights and defamatory conduct by Portable. The legal action aimed to uphold accountability and discourage misconduct among younger artists.
However, after appeals from notable Nigerians including Alhaji Ahmad Lawal (CEO, Lahmad Concepts), Saheed Ibile (CEO, Harmony Holdings Ltd), Alhaji Fatai Lajero (Olufimo Royal Parliament), and Alhaji Waheed Ogunsesan (National President, Olufimo Fans Club), and considering Portable’s inability to meet bail conditions, Osupa chose to withdraw the suit out of compassion.
This decision reflects Osupa’s belief in mercy as a leadership value and hopes it will mark a turning point for Portable’s career and personal growth.
Portable must comply with the following conditions for the withdrawal to remain valid:
- Retract his statement implying Osupa should be held responsible if anything happens to him
- Publicly deny the false claim made by his lawyer, Chief Bar. Isaac Adebayo, that Osupa begged Portable for forgiveness
- Sign an undertaking to cease cyberbullying, defamation, and character assassination
Failure to meet these conditions may result in the case being reinstated.
Osupa remains dedicated to fostering a music industry grounded in respect, discipline, and mutual support, continuing to mentor upcoming talents.
We thank our fans, Fuji music lovers, and all well-meaning Nigerians for their understanding and support during this process.
Signed:
Busari Basit Babatunde (Fountain)
Media Aide to King Saheed Osupa, on behalf of the management.
