Oloyede’s undoing came when he attempted to use the stolen military uniform to deceive and overpower a local vigilante member. His aim was to snatch the vigilante’s dane gun, but his scheme was thwarted, leading to his swift arrest.
As of now, details regarding the ongoing investigation and the status of other gang members remain limited. Police sources have yet to release further information concerning potential accomplices or the extent of Oloyede’s criminal enterprise. Residents of Ota and surrounding areas have expressed relief at the news of the arrest, hoping it will lead to a reduction in kidnapping incidents in the region.
