Kayode Salako Opens Up: Had Child with Another Woman with Wife Foluke Daramola’s Consent

Kayode Salako, husband to renowned Nigerian actress and film producer Foluke Daramola-Salako, has publicly addressed and clarified his decision to father a child with another woman while still married to the actress. The couple, who have been married since 2010, have not had a biological child together despite over 15 years of marriage. Foluke, however, has two children from her previous marriage.

In an explicit statement posted on his social media, Salako emphatically stated that his decision was made with the full understanding and consent of his wife. He revealed that it took three years of earnest discussions and appeals before Foluke finally agreed, with intervention from her mother playing a vital role in reaching this mutual understanding.

Salako explained that the child, named Murewa Omowonuola Salako, is now over three years old and is the result of an arrangement where Foluke encouraged him to have a child with a well-raised young woman whom she could relate to like a younger sister. He clarified that contrary to circulating rumors, he did not formally marry another wife, but rather this arrangement was made with transparency and harmony among all parties involved.

He disclosed that his previous three children from an earlier marriage with Olubukola Olusunmola currently live abroad with their mother in America and have grown up, while Foluke’s busy career as a film producer has kept her often away from home. For Salako, having children in Nigeria was crucial for his old-age security and a source of comfort, explaining that he did not want to live old age alone.

The husband of the popular actress also emphasized that Foluke and the mother of the child share a cordial relationship, dispelling any rumors of conflict. This candid revelation seeks to provide clarity on the nature of their family arrangement amidst public speculation.
