“I’ve Never Spoken to Her” — Tacha Breaks Silence After Arrest Over Alleged N5 Million Fraud

Former BBNaija star Tacha has spoken out days after her arrest, insisting that the allegations against her are false.

Tacha was arrested at her Lagos residence on Sunday, August 30, after she failed to honour police invitations. She has now broken her silence, saying: “I have never spoken to the woman in question before”.

The Allegations

Former BBNaija star Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has spoken out days after her arrest, insisting that the allegations against her are false.

Tacha was arrested at her Lagos residence on Sunday, August 30, 2026, after she failed to honour police invitations.

The arrest, she says, followed an online accusation that she defrauded a woman of N5 million.

Tacha’s Defense

In an interview with reporters on Thursday, Tacha traced the issue to a social media user, Olajide @joph007_, who claimed she collected money from a woman seeking financial help for her husband’s kidney transplant.

“I have never spoken to the woman in question before,” Tacha said. “Somebody just came online and accused me of collecting N5 million from a woman who is seeking financial assistance for her sick husband.

Meanwhile I have never spoken to the woman before” .

The Aftermath

Tacha revealed that her legal team first approached the matter through a civil route before it moved to a criminal investigation.

She maintained that the N5 million fraud claim is completely false and said she is cooperating with authorities to clear her name.

A Lesson for Nigerian Youths

Tacha’s ordeal is a warning that false accusations can destroy reputations.

A single social media post led to her arrest and public humiliation. The same trolls who spread lies will never allow their own children to be victims of such attacks.

Their children are protected.

For young Nigerians, the lesson is clear: verify before you share. A false accusation can ruin someone’s life. The same people who judge others will never allow their own families to be judged.

Think before you share. Protect your reputation. And never forget that the truth will always come out.
